Paul Brown


Paul has been a member of Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky, LLP since 1994. Paul is one of the principal lawyers involved with health law, corporate, finance and general transactional representation for the firm. His practice includes the purchase and sale of stock and assets of closely held corporations, contracts, commercial loan transactions, limited liability companies, partnerships and health law, representing physician practices, corporate and individual clients.

Paul was admitted to the Maine State Bar in 1994. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Maine State Bar, and the Business and Health Law Sections. Prior to joining the firm, Paul served twelve years in the United States Navy as a Naval Flight Officer, flying in the F-14A Tomcat fighter aboard the USS Enterprise and as an amphibious air operations planner.

Paul lives in Bangor with his wife and two sons. His interests include aviation history, camping, hiking, kayaking and canoeing. Paul received his B.S. from the University of Nebraska (1979) and his J.D. (with high distinction) from the University of Nebraska College of Law (1994) where he was elected to the Order of the Coif.
