Suzanne N. Russell Suzanne was born in Augusta, Maine, and was raised in Houlton, Maine. She is a graduate of Houlton High School. Suzanne attended and graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida with a B.A. in Political Science. She graduated from Vermont Law School in 1989 and was a board member of the moot court advisory board. She began practice with Barnes and Rogers in Houlton, Aroostook County, Maine. In 1991 Suzanne became an Assistant District Attorney in Prosecutorial District #8 and practiced as a prosecutor for 16 years. In 2007, she joined Legal Services for the Elderly and represented the agency in its newly founded project in Aroostook County. During this time she also maintained a small family law practice and taught criminal law as an adjunct instructor at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Suzanne joined Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky as an associate in the fall of 2009 and focuses her practice on family law. She is admitted to practice before the State Courts of Maine and the United States District Court for the District of Maine. She is a member of the Aroostook County and Penobscot County Bar Association, the Family Law section of the Maine Bar Association, the past chair of "Link for Hope", a community coalition addressing drug and alcohol issues with youth, a sponsor of the Meduxnekeag River Pony Club and a former Southern Aroostook Hockey board member. Suzanne lives in Houlton with her three children, horses, dog, three cats and 14 chickens. She leads a fast paced life following hockey players and an equestrienne/basketball player.
