BANGOR, MAINE – Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky, LLP (VBK Law) is pleased to announce that the Maine Supreme Judicial Court has appointed partner Kaylee J. Folster to the Maine Judicial Ethics Committee.
This prestigious appointment places Ms. Folster among a distinguished group of judges and legal professionals tasked with the critical oversight of judicial conduct within the state. In this role, she will serve as a key advisor in interpreting and enforcing the ethical standards required of Maine’s judiciary, ensuring the continued integrity and public trust of the bench.
“This appointment is a testament to Kaylee’s unwavering integrity and her sharp legal acumen,” said a spokesperson for VBK Law. “Her dedication to the Maine legal community is evident in everything she does, and we are incredibly proud to see her entrusted with such a significant responsibility by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.”
Ms. Folster’s appointment to the Ethics Committee is a natural extension of her extensive public service. Since 2023, she has served on the State of Maine Pardon Board, reviewing applications on behalf of the Governor. She also serves on the Maine Committee on Judicial Conduct.
Her reputation as a “go-to” attorney in the greater Bangor area is built on a career of vigorous advocacy, ranging from complex federal and state criminal cases—including high-stakes litigation—to compassionate representation in family law matters.
A lifelong Maine resident, Ms. Folster joined VBK Law in 2013 and became a partner in 2020.
Her commitment to justice began early in her career through her volunteer work with Pine Tree Legal Assistance, helping low-income clients navigate housing and benefits issues.
Today, her practice focuses on criminal defense and family law, where she is known for her ability to guide families through complicated and emotional dynamics with both empathy and efficiency.
